In this Busby SEO Test we need SEO guide, so I post SEO for Wordpress that my helpful. As we know many contestant using wordpress for this contest, but you can use this guiding for your regular posting any way.

Using the best Permalink for your URLs
Go to Options -> Permalinks>Custom in the admin panel, fill by /postname%/ – nothing else.

Navigation
Link yourself to previous articles you have written.
Do not place too many external links on the home page, if you have that I recommend that you place them on a separate page. Place the attribute rel=”nofollow” on links that are totally useless for search engines such as to RSS feeds for the blog and comment links. Just in case you want to remove the nofollow on the comment links make sure you check the author links before approval as it is important that you don’t link to bad sites from your blog. This option can handled by SEO Pack Plugin above or do it manually.

Site Map
I mean map for your blog not Sitemap Google. Consider set up this if you have many post of articles. So your visitor can find your specific articles easily. For robot give them Google Sitemap . A Google Sitemap does not improve your ranking, only crawling, and that is not a problem.

Design
Choose your theme or create by your self. See about how to built SEO friendly page article.
Keep your design simple as possible, very simple is better. But if you are lazy using default theme is no problem just like me, ha..ha I do this for Busby SEO Test.
Rethink about your Sidebar, do you really need to link out to all your buddies? if not, better delete them.
Disable unnecessary archives.
Install plugin for set up page, Pagination will very helpful if you have many post in your blog.

Posting of articles

Include links to more reading if applicable.

Image Optimization
Try this plugin, called SEO Friendly Images, and it can automatically add the title of the post and or the image name to the image’s alt and title tag.

Headlines
Describes with great interest what the article is about.
Makes the reader want to read it and clicks on it in the SERPs.
Short and to the point.
Contains important keyword or phrase for ranking for example Busby SEO Test.

Get Links
Writing useful content will invite natural links to your articles and named link bait.
Post your link baits on the major social network sites such as digg.com, reddit, mixx and other.

Increase Visitors Interaction
Commenting produces more unique content to your articles and know your visitor feed back otherwise it will make your space server bigger.
Install the Subscribe to Comments plugin, if you want!.
Actually do reply to your commenters and answer their questions ASAP.
When you revise an article based on a comment, do link and give credit to the commenter if possible.
Polling is useful also.

Speed To Load
Install a caching plugin. I highly recommend WP-Super-Cache, which is a bit of work to set up, but that should make your blog an awful lot faster, this option for blog with amount of visitor above 1000.

Robots.txt
Set up your own Robots.txt manually on root do not using plugin.

Find related blogs, and say hello
If you want to rank for certain keywords Just like in Busby SEO Test, go into Google Blogsearch, and see which blogs rank in the top 10 for those keywords. Read those blogs, start posting insightful comments, follow up on their posts by doing a post on your own blog and link back to them: communicate!
